NdureExploit -> Splinter Cell Exploit:
MODDING THE XBOX WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND CAN CAUSE THE XBOX TO STOP WORKING IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE OR IF AN ERROR OCCURS!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE IF YOU BREAK YOUR XBOX!!!!!!
Okay to start you'll need a few things to do this:
- Xbox Action replay with memory card (available at most stores that sell game accessories)
- A non platinum edition Splinter Cell disc (A few other games can be used for this, but this guide will use Splinter Cell since it is one of the easiest)
- Krazie's Ndure exploit for Splinter Cell
- A 5960 dashboard (if you have or had xbox live, you probably already have the update)
- An Xbox system, time, and a paid electric bill
To start, you cannot have any Splinter Cell saves on your hard drive, you can either delete them or put them on your AR memory card and store them on your computer for later. Now you have to obtain a copy of of the Ndure exploit that can be used by the Xbox, which can only be legally obtained if you compile the source code yourself with Microsoft's official XDK(Xbox Development Kit), which you also have to be an autorized game developer to retreive legally. Please don't ask anyone here for a compiled copy of the Ndure exploit.
Once you have a copy of the Ndure exploit, which you had obtained by being an authorized game developer using your legal copy of XDK to compile the original source code. You will probably have a folder with a few more folders inside it. You'll should see four folders and some instructions: Extras, rescue disc, SC save1, SC save 2, Krayzie Ndure Installer v1.1.info, and readme.txt . You'll want to open up SC save 1 now and just drag "udata.zip" into the PC database section of your AR software.
Make sure you have your AR memory card hooked up to your computer(the "AR" symbol will be lit up green). Now, drag the linux installer and SC linux profile to your memory card. Once the files are successfully transferred, you'll need to start up to your xbox's dashboard (press the cd eject button to go here or just start up without a disc inside) and copy the files from your AR memory card to your xbox's hard drive, once again, you cannot have any other Splinter Cell saves, so again, either transfer them to your memory card and delete them or just delete them forever. Once your files have transferred, put Splinter Cell in the DVD drive and close the tray, wait for the game to start.... Go to START GAME, then select the Linux profile and then select load checkpoint. It should black out your screen and start up a modified dashboard.
First thing you need to do is backup your eeprom, open the eeprom tab then select backup eeprom, just select ok on all the windows that pop up by pressing A, it'll take you to another dashboard where you must again select backup eeprom, it'll only take a second or two to back it up. Then return to the previous dashboard. Now, I highly recommend copying your eeprom onto your memory unit or transferring it to your pc by FTP later. Now you will need to go to "Basic install", once you start the install it will check for your eeprom, just press ok a couple of times till it starts copying files. Somewhere it'll ask you if you want evolutionX or unleashX, I personally prefer
UnleashX, but the choice is up to you. When it is done copying the files it'll ask you to remove any disc, take your disc out then press ok. It should shut off your xbox and either will start itself back up, if not you'll have to power it on. When it boots back up it'll install some more files, then when that is done, just press ok a few times and you should be ready to use your modded xbox!!!
A few notes... If you boot your xbox with a disc in it, your modded dashboard can't be accessed unless you take the disc out and restart your console. Left trigger + right trigger + back + black will bring you back to your modded dashboard from a game and left trigger + right trigger + back + white will start the disc that is in your xbox. You should keep the files you used to install this in case you need to reinstall or uninstall the softmod.
DO NOT COPY GAMES ONTO YOUR HARDDRIVE THAT YOU DO NOT LEGALLY OWN, THE GAME MAKERS WORK HARD TO BRING US GAMES AND THEY DON'T NEED PEOPLE STEALING THEM!
