Xbox -> Problem Resolution -> Error Leds:

Green/Red flashing: The Xbox will usually restart twice then flash red and green. Commonly referred to as "FRAG" this is usually caused when the Xbox motherboard does not receive a valid bios during boot. When seen on an unmodified Xbox it is caused by a bad TSOP image, a corrupted bios, or a bad bios chip. This can usually be repaired by installing a modchip. When seen after installing a modchip, this means that the d0 connection is good but there is a bad connection on one of the LPC lines. When an install works correctly, but FRAGs after flashing then an incorrect or corrupted bios file was used.

Solid Green without video or eject: The Xbox boots with no video or audio and just sits with green leds. The dvd tray will not eject. Usually caused by a bad bios. This can usually be repaired by installing a modchip.

Sold Green without video: The Xbox boots with no video or audio and just sits with green leds. The Xbox is probably fine but is not outputting to the tv properly. This could be a problem with the A/V cord or your tv input. Try another A/V cord or another tv.

Orange/Green flashing: This occurs when the A/V cord is not plugged in, or there is a problem with the video output. Try replugging the A/V cord, or try another A/V cord. If these do not resolve the issue then check the pins and motherboard for damage where the video output plug solders to the board. These can be damaged when installing a newer motherboard into a case from a v1.0-1.1 Xbox.

Orange flashing: This is a problem with a LPC connection after a modchip install, possibly a short due to solder splash.

Orange/Red flashing: This is from a broken trace to LPC pin5.

Green flashing: This is due to a missing or corrupt EEPROM.

Solid red: Usually indicates the Xbox is overheating, occasionally caused by major motherboard component failure.
